This anarchic life is a choice

Living off of soup for two weeks
a person gets to know themselves a little better
with a package of noodles in the afternoon,
can of lentils in the evening, some whiskey to wash
it all down, every now and again;
gets darker earlier now, the night comes on quicker
so the broth tastes a little better when it can't be seen
or so I'd like to imagine,
this living room gets smaller, sleep never visits
while I sit in this dark room that does not belong
thinking on anarchy.
