RE:FORM SCHOOL

Tuesday, September 14th, 2010

We believe that ALL AMERICANS should have EQUAL ACCESS to a HIGH QUALITY EDUCATION, with no exceptions.

RE:FORM SCHOOL is a group art exhibition and event series, bringing together hundreds of artists in New York City to send a loud message that the time has come to fix our ailing Public Education System.

RE:FORM SCHOOL invites you to show your art in New York City alongside some of the most celebrated artists today. Art plays a pivotal role in creating cultural momentum, and this is your chance to get involved. RE:FORM SCHOOL invites you to join artists from across the nation who are joining the call for true reform of our public school educational system. There are four themes to the RE:FORM SCHOOL online contest – KNOWLEDGE, COMMUNITY, TEACHERS INSPIRE, and CREATIVITY & INNOVATION. Submit your work by September 30th.

RE:FORM SCHOOL will be open to the public, Saturday, October 9th, 2010 through Monday, October 11th, 2010 between the hours of 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM and is located at 233 Mott Street, New York City, NY 10012.

No Kid Hungry: Art To End Hunger

Friday, August 27th, 2010

I recently completed a design project with Share Our Strength for their No Kid Hungry Pledge. A great group of people and an extremely important effort:

I want this sticker to give people a way to show their individual support and get them excited about an America that is ending childhood hunger by 2015. We need a sustained effort. We need commitments made each and every day by all of us who have enthusiastically signed up, and that’s what I wanted to show with the repeating “I pledge” of the background. It’s like those sentences we used to have to write on the chalkboard in school when we did something bad. But this time, we’re doing something good. We’re pledging a better future. Over and over and over until it becomes reality.

You can still get the sticker by taking the pledge and making a small donation to the campaign. Please do, and put it in a high traffic area. Let it serve as a reminder that we all need to do our part to make NO KID HUNGRY a reality.

Read the full post. Make a donation. Spread the word, NO KID HUNGRY.

The Social Communication Project

Though you will be asked to design a social poster on a social brief for a nongovernmental organization only a few times in your career, it is nonetheless true that, year after year, charities are in dire need of raising public awareness on their daily activity. It’s GOOD 50×70 2010. You know what to do.
